As part of its evaluation of the future of the Hospital, the Highlands County Hospital District (the “District”) has obtained independent evaluations and analyses regarding the potential lease or sale of the District’s assets, including the Hospital.
The District’s Enabling Act, as amended by CS/HB 4087 (2026), establishes requirements for the evaluation of a potential lease and for the evaluation of a potential sale. These requirements include consideration of the benefits to the public of the District, applicable operational and financial considerations, and the fair market value of the District’s assets. The evaluations must be conducted by independent entities with experience conducting comparable evaluations of hospital organizations similar in size and function to the Hospital.
The Board has obtained the following independent evaluations and analyses to assist the Board, the public, and other key stakeholders in considering the potential lease or sale of the District’s assets:
